What we do
Love Carrick, performs direct services in our neighborhood. Love Carrick is a 501 c(3). We hold a monthly community dinner that is popular with seniors, single parent households and those that are economically distressed. We distribute meal kits in partnership with the United Way. We run an Angel Tree at Christmas. We organize blood drives. We organize holiday dinners on Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. For Halloween this year, we will provide a bag lunch for kids so they have something non-candy before they trick or treat. We organize meal trains for those in crisis. A meal train is where several people organize and prepare meals for someone in crisis. None of our events have waste. All leftovers are put in meal boxes and delivered to homeless camps. For those that are unable to attend our events due to sickness, mobility or disability, we deliver. We are also partnering with the local food bank to do a monthly fresh produce distribution. We have worked with contactors to help those with limited means get repairs. We have organized volunteers to run small errands for those that may be homebound or disabled. This has included grocery store runs, taking out trash and many other small errands.
For our events: All are welcome and there is never a charge.
We also partner with Concord Presbyterian Church to help carry out a monthly Veterans’ Dinner, free for veterans and their immediate families.
